Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships are part of the Horizon Europe program.

Proposals are joint submissions between the Fellow and their host Department/supervisor. A key objective of the fellowships is career development and skills acquisition so planned training must be addressed in the application alongside research objectives.

Research fields are chosen freely by the applicants and all research disciplines offered at Oxford are eligible for funding.

The grant provides an allowance to cover your living, travel and family costs. Research costs and overheads of the host organisation are also supported.

Oxford supports applications for European Fellowships (EFs); we are unable to, however, support applications for Global Fellowships (GFs).

EUROPEAN FELLOWSHIPS

Faculty notification of intent to apply: 12:00 midday, 07 July 2025
Draft deadline: 12:00 midday, 28 July 2025
Final faculty deadline: 12:00 midday, 26 August 2025
Funder deadline: 17:00 CEST, 10 September 2025

Eligibility: Open to those who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis coming to Europe. Fellowships must be for a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 24 months.

At call deadline, supported researchers must have a maximum of 8 years full-time equivalent experience in research, measured from the date of award of the doctoral degree. Note: This only counts active research time, and years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards this eight years of experience. Further specifications are found on the funders website.

Mentor for the Fellowship

Applicants who wish to apply for this funding through the Oxford Law Faculty must secure the support of a senior member of the Faculty as a mentor/supervisor. While the fellowship funding will allow for independent research, both the funder and the Faculty require the Fellow to have a mentor to discuss project progress and wider academic life in general on a regular basis.

If you are interested in applying, please contact a faculty member who you wish to be your mentor before you submit your expression of interest to our Research Support team.

How to apply

More information on how to apply can be found on Oxford Research Support's page on European Commission research funding
